The New Orleans Saints continue to sniff around this rookie quarterback class in the 2025 NFL Draft. A report regarding their new head coach, Kellen Moore, has raised some eyebrows regarding Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders.

Kellen Moore doesn't attend Colorado Pro Day

The Saints head coach wasn't in attendance for the Buffaloes Pro Day, where Sanders impressed during his workout. Instead, the Saints sent quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien and wide receivers coach Keith Williams to get live looks at the Colorado prospects.

It's possible that Moore has seen enough from Sanders to feel comfortable with his evaluation both on and off the field. The Saints HC may want the NFL to feel like New Orleans isn't super interested in the Colorado quarterback, even if they are.

On the flip-side, it is possible that Moore prefers someone like Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, or one of the other rookie QB prospects that are not expected to go in round one. We won't truly know until the first round rolls around later this month.

Shedeur's performance

Shedeur threw the ball with composure and confidence.

A few of his deep balls made their way around social media, as Sanders did throw a nice ball consistently when pushing it downfield. At times, his arm strength upside has been a concern from draft analysts.

.There were plenty of splashy showings during Sanders' workout, and he looked comfortable as a passer. Of course, that is a lot easier to do without a defense lining up across from you as a QB. Regardless, he impressed plenty of folks that saw him.

“I just think he throws a really catchable ball. Accuracy is one thing, but catch-ability is another. Shedeur’s got both. And watching him live today, there was more power — more velocity — than I expected.” — Executive at Colorado's Pro Day via Jordan Schultz

Regardless, New Orleans has kept this QB class on their radar consistently this offseason. Even with a Derek Carr restructure, it seems like Moore and the Saints have their eyes on the long-term future at starting quarterback.
