The New Orleans Saints continue to get bitten by the injury bug.
After losing cornerback Marshon Lattimore to an injury a couple weeks ago, disaster has struck once again. The Saints placed Veteran CB Bradley Roby on IR today with an ankle injury.
He was injured last week against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Saints were also without young starting CB Paulson Adebo last week against the Cardinals. he has been a bright spot in the secondary at times this year.
Now, there is a possibility that they will be without their top three cornerbacks entering the season.
That sets up more playing time for rookie CB Alontae Taylor. Taylor played very well for New Orleans last week in his return from injury. Unfortunately, much of the rest of the secondary struggled.
Blown coverages and missed tackles haunted Tyrann Mathieu, Chris Harris Jr., and Justin Evans. Hopefully, they can bounce back this week and beyond for the Saints.
The timetable for Lattimore and Adebo are still unknown. The Saints are not in a position to make a trade for an impact defensive back at the moment, either.
They will most likely have to rely on what they have in-house as they attempt to get back on track on defense. Roby will have to miss at least four weeks of action, but he could return later in the season.
