The New Orleans Saints are adding to their analytics department in the front office. They are hiring former New York Jets coordinator of football analytics Zach Stuart as the team’s new director of analytics. Stuart had been with New York since 2020. This addition was first reported by Seth Walder of ESPN.

He worked as a mathematics R&D for Sandra National Laboratories from 2017 to 2020 and an analyst for Mountain States Insurance Group from 2014 to 2016. He has experience at multiple levels. That's notable.

Former Head Coach Sean Payton foreshadowed this move just a bit during this offseason. He took a subtle shot at the Saints' analytics department, saying "The analytics department is something that is on a different level here (Denver).".

Clearly, HC Dennis Allen and New Orleans wanted a different direction at the helm of their analytics department. Stuart seems like a strong fit for the position.
