The New Orleans Saints continue to dig themselves out of a bit of a salary cap hole during this off-season. It's nothing new for New Orleans.

They are known as one of the most consistent teams when it comes to salary cap maneuvers.

The Saints just made another notables move with one of their best offensive players in order to continue to shave off some dollars against the cap.

New Orleans converted $10 million of center Erik McCoy's 2023 pay into a signing bonus.

That created $8 million in cap space for the Saints. They also added a void year to McCoy's contract.

This will be just another of many more moves that the Saints will make in the coming weeks as free agency approaches.

They'll need to get compliant with the salary cap and also allow themselves some space to make some important pickups for the roster going forward.

Expect more changes to contracts and the depth chart in New Orleans soon.
