It's technically a two-year agreement, but it's structured in a way that it's a one-year contract worth up to $15 million. On Tuesday, specific details about Thomas's contract were revealed.
If Thomas is on the Saints' roster on the third of the 2024 league year he will receive huge roster bonuses according to NewOrleans.Football's Mike Triplett. The amount of those future bonuses is $31.7 million, 28.7 million, and 58.6 million via ESPN's Katherine Terrell.
Another important date for Thomas is April 21. He will earn a signing bonus of $5 million if he passes a physical by that time and a base salary of $1.26 million for next season.
Thomas can earn up to $3.74 million which would be in the form of a guaranteed roster bonus in 2024 based on games played.
$190k per game if he's on the active gameday roster (totaling $3.23M total).
$30k per game if he's on the 53-man roster (totaling $510k).
That's not the end of the cash Thomas can rake in. He has an additional $5 million he can obtain in performance-based incentives.
