The New Orleans Saints addressed their biggest need in round one of the 2024 NFL Draft, taking offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga. Their hole at OT was gleaming, and it remains an area where there's not much pro experience.

Regardless, new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has a lot of confidence in the rookie offensive tackle. The entire staff has spoken quite highly of Fuaga since his selection. His play in practice and drills so far has proven them right.

Klint Kubiak isn't worried about Taliese Fuaga

Fans should trust Kubiak when it comes to tackle play. He spent recent seasons with the NFL's top OT in Trent Williams. If he believes that Fuaga has "the right stuff", he probably does.

With the uncertainty surrounding Ryan Ramczyk, Fuaga may be the tackle option that has the most trust from fans right now. Yes, you read that correctly.

Fellow OT option Trevor Penning is projected to start right now, but his experience at the NFL level has been a struggle. Injuries have plagued him so far, but his inconsistency in practice and in games has slowed his development. In Kubiak's system, the Saints have confidence that Penning can get back on track.

As for Fuaga, there is plenty of pressure on him. The Saints have had at least one Pro Bowl level OT in front of their QB for most of the last decade.

The good news? He was the best run blocker in this year's draft class.

Kubiak wants to establish a tough running game as the play-caller, and Fuaga can be an important piece to start his pro career. He's expected to start at left tackle.

Now, the rookie has to show why the Saints took him in the first half of round one. Their offensive coordinator isn't doubting him, either.
