Halloween brought plenty of treats for the black and gold, while the Indianapolis Colts only received tricks on Sunday afternoon. It was an offensive performance that the Saints had not had in three years. The Saints totaled 511 yards in their 38-27 victory.
Those 511 yards were the most in a game for New Orleans since their 52-33 win over the Minnesota Vikings in 2020. In that win, they totaled 583 total yards on offense.
Derek Carr had his best game as a Saint. For the most part, the entire offense seemed to be on the same page against a banged-up Indy defense.
The Saints went 6/12 on 3rd Down and 3/4 in the red zone versus the Colts. Those were legit weaknesses, but you would have never guessed it on Sunday.
Talent has never been the issue this season. Mistakes and miscommunication has prohibited the Saints from looking like they did in today's win. They were crisp in Week 8, and it showed in a major way.
Taysom Hill was heavily involved. As per usual, that was a smart decision. His hard running inside the red zone is almost unstoppable, and he even connected with Rashid Shaheed on a 44-yard pass as well.
Now, the Saints will look to build on the statistical dominance that they proved they had in them this Sunday. The Saints will face the Chicago Bears in Week 9 to try to get to 5-4 on the season.
