The New Orleans Saints have some questions regarding how their new offense will look in 2024. Their most notable aspect of change for the roster will be the offensive line.

The Saints OL ranked 19th in the NFL

Of course, we don't know the starting depth chart for the Saints offensive line quite yet. Their main unit from OTAs set a group of five at the top, but the situation remains fluid.

Projected starting OL for the Saints to start 2024

  • LT – Taliese Fuaga
  • LG – Nick Saldiveri
  • C – Erik McCoy
  • RG – Cesar Ruiz
  • RT – Trevor Penning

The group is a mixture of veterans and young talent that needs to prove itself in the NFL.

The Saints OL can be described as unknown

They have a rookie projected to start at tackle. A second-year interior player in Nick Saldiveri expected to start at guard. He missed a chunk of last season due to injury. McCoy and Ruiz are both solid contributors that can play at a Pro Bowl level at times.

Penning may be the most important question mark. He's struggled so far in his pro career, including a benching during the first half of 2023. His availability and development can dramatically change the Saints' overall performance on offense in 2024.

Fuaga has received a lot of positive reviews so far during the offseason in his first year in the pros. The first-rounder from this year's draft is working hard. New OC Klint Kubiak is not worried about Fuaga.

All that being said, their 19th overall ranking is potentially better than you would expect.

It's not a ranking that you necessarily want as a fan or a part of the team, but you can make the argument that they should be even lower on the OL unit rankings.
