The New Orleans Saints have made some more moves via the free agency market. As the NFL offseason slows a bit over the next few weeks, New Orleans has some new pieces in their building and on the roster.
Saints add UFL talent in free agency
According to the team, the Saints have signed three former UFL players. Tight end Seth Green, cornerback Jayden Price, and offensive lineman Barry Wesley have all been added to New Orleans' roster.
Tight end Seth Green
Green is the player who may stand out the most here. He is a big-bodied receiving target at the tight end position and spent time with the Dallas Cowboys in 2023. He's got a stout build at 6'4 and 255 pounds.
Green could be used as a piece in the red zone if he can carve out a roster spot throughout training camp and the preseason. Not to mention, he has some experience in a unique role on offense as well.
During his college career at Minnesota, Green ran the ball 114 times for 388 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wildcat quarterback. We've seen Taysom Hill do that plenty for New Orleans, but he's coming off a season-ending injury from last year.
The Woodbury, Minn. native has played the past two seasons with the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League, appearing in 20 games with eight starts and posting 24 catches for 236 yards (9.8 avg.) with two touchdowns. In 2025, Green finished with 13 receptions for 159 yards (12.2 avg.) and one touchdown. — New Orleans Saints
It'll be interesting to see if Green can create any sort of rapport with quarterbacks Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler. Being a wildcat option as well, he may give the Saints and Kellen Moore a bit more positional flexibility and potential rest to the actual QBs if he takes some snaps there.
With these additions, New Orleans waived cornerback Travion Fluellen and running back Xazavian Valladay.
New Orleans Saints’ recent decision officially costs another young player his job in latest roster shuffle for Kellen Moore
The roster shuffle around the NFL will begin to ramp up over the next couple of months. For the New Orleans Saints, they are already making a move for their offense. They've decided to go ahead and cut ties with a young player during a position battle. Saints waive young running back According to Mike […]
