The New Orleans Saints believe that they have plenty of talent to contend in the NFC this season. A piece of that on offense is veteran wide receiver Michael Thomas.

Everyone knows the story with Thomas. For a few seasons in a row, he was inarguably a top five wideout in the NFL. Then, the injury bug struck him. In the past three seasons, he has not been able to stay on the football field.

The former Pro Bowl WR is as healthy as he's been in quite awhile, and the Saints front office has tons of confidence in him right now.

“It was really good to see Mike Thomas look like Mike Thomas… I felt like Mike really looked like his old self. Physical, violent route-runner, catching balls in traffic, and that was great to see." — Saints GM Mickey Loomis on Thomas

Thomas looks noticeably more explosive this season than when he has returned in the past couple of years. He's added muscle, and he is still as smart as ever when it comes to space and route running.

For Derek Carr, it is major to have Thomas healthy and involved. The WR was a key reason that Carr chose the Saints. The duo had multiple conversations before Carr picked New Orleans as his new home.

Thomas' health is paramount for the Saints. His consistency and veteran presence creates a three-headed monster at wideout for New Orleans alongside Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.

With Thomas, the three all provide different, useful skillsets for the Saints.
