The New Orleans Saints have a laundry list on their injury report for Wednesday. A whopping fifteen players were included on it, and many notable names appeared. Of the fifteen, seven did not practice. Seven were limited, and one was a full participant.

New Orleans placed veteran safety Marcus Maye and interior defensive lineman Malcolm Roach on injured reserve on Wednesday afternoon.

They will have to miss at least four games. It's possible that they won't play again in the regular season. The Saints signed DL P.J. Mustipher and were awarded LB Monty Rice to fill those two roster spots.

Maye has played in just seven games this season. Roach is one of the best run defenders on the Saints defense. He also had played in every game so far this year for New Orleans.

Rookies will have to step up for the Saints now. Expect Jordan Howden to continue to fill in for Maye at safety, and Bryan Bresee may see more snaps without Roach in the lineup. Both players have had impressive flashes in their first NFL year, but consistency will be key for them going forward.

Taysom Hill, Cameron Jordan, and Rashid Shaheed are the most notable players that did not practice on Wednesday. Kicker Blake Grupe practiced in full.

Quarterback Derek Carr was a limited participant. Saints head coach Dennis Allen says that he will just need to clear concussion protocol to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
