The New Orleans Saints were looking to upgrade their tight end room this offseason. During their search, they brought in Foster Moreau for a visit.
Not long afterward, Foster was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and had to step away from the NFL. However, that didn't stop the Saints from signing Foster to a three-year deal two weeks ago.
New Orleans began their OTAs this week. As they took the field on Tuesday, Foster was in uniform with his new teammates which certainly had to pull on a few heartstrings.
Foster will battle Juwan Johnson for the top spot at tight end. He'll get to do so with a familiar face in quarterback Derek Carr who he played with for four years (2019-2022) while they were members of the Las Vegas Raiders. Foster racked up 91 receptions for 1,107 yards and 12 touchdowns during that time.
Cancer is an extremely scary thing to deal with. So, after getting good news about his treatment, Foster has to be on cloud nine being back on the field and working up a sweat, even if it is at OTAs.
