New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has transitioned quite smoothly to his new team. The offense rallies around him, and reports from training camp have been mostly positive regarding the first-team offense. Carr has established a special bond with one of his tight ends already, too.

Surprisingly, it isn't Foster Moreau. He and Carr have a great relationship due to their time together with the Raiders. Instead, there's a new combo as well. Carr and emerging TE Juwan Johnson have become very close during this offseason process. The chemistry is growing on the field between the two, and Johnson sounds excited to have Carr as his new QB.

This is important for fans. Johnson had his best year as a pro last season. That was with instability at the QB position. Now, with Carr in place alongside plenty of other skill position talent, Johnson could be in line for a great year for the Saints.

It's also noteworthy that Carr is becoming a locker room leader. Multiple players, including Michael Thomas and Ryan Ramcyzk, have discussed his impact since joining the organization. Carr and Johnson could connect for double-digit touchdowns this season for the Saints.
