Derek Carr is one of the most polarizing players in New Orleans Saints history. After reportedly requesting a trade, then a raise, this offseason, his future with the team remains rathe unknown. 

Could he start next season for Kellen Moore? Potentially. Could Carr never play for the Saints again? That feels possible, and maybe even likely at this point. He recently made some notable comments regarding his injured shoulder. 

Derek Carr discusses injury and Saints future at church

During a church service in Las Vegas recently, the Saints quarterback spoke about his shoulder injury and the social media reaction that the situation has garnered recently for both him and the team. The future is cloudy for Carr and the Saints. 

Carr also revealed that they were scheduled to go to New Orleans to figure out his shoulder injury, but he had to rush his wife to the emergency room. She had a miscarriage when they did not know that she was pregnant.

All in all, this is another twist in the story of Carr's future with the team. Only time will tell how Kellen Moore, the front office, and the veteran QB decide to move forward. The Saints drafted QB Tyler Shough with the 40th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
