The New Orleans Saints have a quarterback situation that plenty of folks are keeping an eye on entering next season. Derek Carr could or could not play. Spencer Rattler is a young option with some upside. Tyler Shough was just picked early in round two.

The latter of that group proved his commitment to the team via social media to kick off the week after he was picked by Kellen Moore's team.

God’s timing. If it was easy, everyone would do it. New Orleans you will get everything out of me. I will die on that field for y’all. ⚜️ WHO DAT — Shough via IG

Shough dealt with multiple season-ending injuries during his college career. It is well documented that that he is an older quarterback prospect than most of his counterparts when it comes to a rookie class. No matter what – you cannot underestimate his leadership and determination to continue his career.

New Saints cornerback Quincy Riley is a former teammate of Shough, too. He bragged on the QB as well because of his intangibles.

Despite being the oldest player expected to be drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft class, Tyler Shough only has one season with more than seven starts in it. Injuries and uneven play throughout his career even when he did manage to stay on the field led him to bounce around from Oregon to Texas Tech to Louisville. He played his best under center with the Cardinals this past season putting up around 3200 passing yards and 23 touchdowns in 12 games. The former four star prospect has good enough athleticism and a strong arm to help him overcome other red flags (age and health) if an NFL team gives him a shot.

Shough will have an opportunity to start this season for the Saints. He's a player with plenty to prove and a chip on his shoulder entering his rookie season.
