The hype train for New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough continues to gain passengers and steam. His latest dominant outing against the Tennessee Titans in Week 17 was another consistent piece to the rookie’s puzzle that has him in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race now.

Additionally, Shough is among some Pro Bowl talent when it comes to his latest accomplishment for New Orleans.

Tyler Shough’s back-to-back performances place him in elite QB company

According to Dante Koplowitz-Fleming, Shough is one of just three rookie quarterbacks with 300+ passing yards and no interceptions in back-to-back games. The other two are Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott, two of the most well-respected QBs in the entire NFL over the past handful of seasons.

The young quarterback took another step forward in Week 17. He has looked calm and collected in most of his starts, but the win over Tennessee was the first major comeback that Shough had to lead after the Titans got off to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter.

Shough completed 22 of 27 passes for 333 passing yards and two touchdowns. That was good for a 142.7 rating. It was another example of why Kellen Moore and the front office had a lot of faith in him during the 2025 NFL Draft, while others scoffed at them for selecting an older QB prospect early in the second round.

Also, keep in mind that Shough was playing without his top three running backs, top two wideouts, and two starting offensive linemen. That did not create a scenario in which he needed any excuse, though. Shough peppered the Titans’ defense with intermediate gains and mixed in a few deep shots that were the difference for the Saints’ passing game on Sunday.
