New Orleans Saints rookie running back Kendre Miller left Sunday's game with a knee injury. Of course, the panic alarms blared for Saints fans. Luckily, he avoided major injury.

According to multiple sources, he got positive results from imaging after the game. He could play this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers, but the team may hold him out for precautionary reasons. At the least, he is traveling with the team to California.

For the Saints, it's a major positive. They already added veteran RB Darrel Williams as insurance and depth, but they were excited about the role that Miller would play in the offense this year.

With Alvin Kamara suspended for the first three games of the year. Miller's status was even more important. Now, he has a chance to be healthy for the start of the season against the Tennessee Titans.

Keep an eye on Miller's recovery and return to practice over the next couple of weeks. That will be very telling for his availability to begin the regular season.

The move for Williams makes sense regardless of Miller's injury status, too. They needed another experienced back to start the year, and Williams is a great fit. He will provide third-down RB opportunities and improved receiving game upside for the RB room. Running back talent remains a strength for the Saints.
