It is that time of year once again. Debates about the NFL salary cap arise during every off-season. Every year, the New Orleans Saints are at the center of discussion.

Their front office has a unique manner of operating the salary cap, and they have proven annually that they will make consistent contract restructures. Void years are a common practice for them as well.

This year is no different for New Orleans.

They entered the off-season over $50 million over the cap for 2023. Now, after a plethora of moves, they sit with plenty of cap space to make more moves in free agency.

As of right now, the Saints are projected to have between $16 and $17 million in cap space.

That gives them the room to fill out the roster and add impact talent still.

The Saints have made multiple win-now transactions, including signing QB Derek Carr.

Over the past few seasons, they have proven that they do not plan to break the roster down to create tons of cap space. Instead, they believe in their evaluation process for talent.

The Saints think that they can replace any players that they lose because of cap situations through the NFL Draft. That's been the case quite often.

It will be interesting to see how the Saints maneuver the cap for the rest of the off-season. Their amount of cap space could allow them to grab a couple of the top remaining free agents on the market.
