The New Orleans Saints remain active. They are signing another defensive back to their practice squad after the news of Marcus Maye's suspension.

Former third-round pick Cameron Dantzler is joining the Saints' practice squad.

Dantzler was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2020. From 2020-2022, he totaled 149 tackles, 17 pass deflections, and 3 interceptions.

He recorded a 70.9 coverage grade in 2020, according to PFF. 2021 was even better for him as Dantzler recorded a 73.8 coverage grade. He missed a lot of time in 2022 and saw his play decline a bit when on the field.

After that year, the Vikings moved on from him. He has bounced around from multiple teams since that move. Dantzler most recently spent time with the Houston Texans.

It will bee intriguing to see if Dantzler can make his way onto the active roster. He is a physically-gifted cornerback with some upside, but plenty of inconsistencies have surfaced along the way for the young DB.

The Saints are making a move with zero risk to try to bolster their secondary depth. Makes sense for New Orleans in every way.
