The New Orleans Saints have added some beef to their interior defensive line.

After losing defensive tackles David Onyemata and Shy Tuttle, the Saints have signed Khalen Saunders as free agency officially kicks off on Wednesday.

It's a three-year deal worth $14.5 million for Saunders.

The 330-pounder was a third-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2019. He would play in 12 games with four starts as a rookie and recorded 22 tackles and a sack and won a Super Bowl, not bad for a first year.

Saunders was hit with the injury bug the next two seasons as he only appeared in 10 games with one start. However, 2022 was his best campaign on the pro level.

Saunders played in 16 games and his 3.5 sacks and 48 tackles were career highs.

In Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles, Saunders amassed two tackles and a sack and won his second ring.

As he enters year five, Saunders will be tasked with being an anchor in the middle of the Saints' defensive line.
