Another week. Another disappointing performance for the New Orleans Saints. This time, it felt a little closer to home. They just got embarrassed by the Denver Broncos, led by former Saints head coach Sean Payton.
The Broncos were the better team in every facet of the football game.
Entering the game at 3-3, you would have thought Denver was a top team in the AFC. Instead, New Orleans loses in horrific fashion for the second week in a row. They have lost five games in a row.
Their rookie quarterback had a tough outing, and he was not the only one. It was a confusing game plan on both sides of the ball and bad execution at every level for the black and gold.
Spencer Rattler frustrated during loss
Rattler struggled in his second start in the NFL. Alas, he is playing without his top two receivers and three starting offensive lineman. He finally let some emotion come out a bit during the loss to Denver.
The rookie QB seeming said, "What are we doing?" in a moment of frustration during the first half of the matchup.
I'm sure tons of Saints fans yelled that phrase at their television during the game on Thursday evening. In a primetime slot, New Orleans completely laid an egg.
Alvin Kamara also showed frustration to close the first half for New Orleans. He made an angry gesture and was clearly not happy with some sort of decision from the sideline.
You can't really blame him after taking this sort of hit with minimal time left on the clock in the half.
It wouldn't surprise me if more of these reactions begin on a weekly basis. Dennis Allen's seat continues to heat up, whether GM Mickey Loomis will understand that or not.
