The New Orleans Saints defense took over Week 1 in the Superdome. Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill threw three interceptions. Derrick Henry found little success in the second half. Overall, the Saints defense made the plays when it mattered the most.

In particular, star cornerback Marshon Lattimore had another impressive game against a top-flight, well-known wide receiver in DeAndre Hopkins. 'Latt' was lockdown.

Hopkins caught just two of four targets against the Saints' best CB, according to PFF. Those only totaled 24 yards. Lattimore also had a pass deflection and a game-changing interception on a pass thrown into double coverage by Tannehill.

Lattimore and co. took advantage of Tannehill's mistakes often, and they'd probably tell you that they could have had 5-6 interceptions in the game. Multiple potential picks were dropped by defenders.

The Saints star CB is known for playing his best against top competition.

Everyone knows his battles (and consistent dominance) against Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans. Lattimore has also seen success against wideouts like Davante Adams, Julio Jones, and Amari Cooper in the past.

He never backs down from talent, and that's why the Saints value Lattimore so highly. Latt is one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL right now.
