Saints star WR Chris Olave drops two-word statement to fuel Tyler Shough award campaign
Tyler Shough’s top wideout knows how talented he truly is.
New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough is proving a lot of people wrong. On a weekly basis, he is not only proving to be a potential franchise quarterback for the black and gold, but he is also showing exactly why it is dangerous to write off a rookie QB immediately.
At this point, his teammates are pushing for him to win an award that nobody expected him to have a chance at garnering when the season began. Remember that Spencer Rattler was the starter to begin the season for the Saints.
Chris Olave wants Tyler Shough to win Rookie of the Year
Via Twitter/X, Olave had a crystal clear, but simple, message following the Saints’ win over the Titans in Week 17, led by Shough’s performance.

Shough was 22/27 for 333 passing yards and two touchdowns. He did not turn the ball over. Shough was also playing with two backup offensive lineman starting, their RB4 leading the backfield, and Olave as the sole wide receiver available in the top 3 on the depth chart.
The Saints QB is stacking fantastic performances, regardless of opponent, and the Saints receiver wants people to be put on notice. In eight starts for New Orleans, Shough has completed 181 of 260 passes (69.6%) for 1,997 yards and 9 touchdowns. He has thrown four interceptions and rushed for 116 yards and two TDs. His impact has been clear and obvious.
It is worth noting that Shough’s odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year continue to improve as the season unwinds. He was not even in the discussion a month ago.
Now, the young gunslinger has the second-best odds to win the award, via both DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook. Via DraftKings, Shough owns +130 odds to take home the hardware. Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan remains the favorite with -115 odds to win it.
If Shough dominates the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18, it will be extremely tough to form a narrative that he shouldn’t win it, though.
