The New Orleans Saints' return to the football field is in full swing. OTAs have been going on over recent weeks. Those are optional for players, but many veterans have been showing up.

Marshon Lattimore's status with the Saints has been the largest question mark. Trade rumors flew around months ago, but they never came to fruition. That was a good choice by New Orleans. Their top cornerback has been working out individually.

Saints mandatory minicamp begins next week

Saints head coach Dennis Allen relayed his thoughts on Lattimore's situation at the moment. It was a simple answer.

Allen expects Lattimore to be at mandatory minicamp

Saints defensive backs coach Marcus Robertson also expects Lattimore to return to the team for mandatory minicamp. He sounded excited for his return.

Overall, Lattimore being around the team and on the field during practice is the best outcome for the Saints. It is better than him working and preparing on his own or the team moving him in a deal. He's their most talented DB when healthy.

Lattimore had positive discussions with Allen and the organization earlier in the offseason. That was the first good sign for his return. These latest comments from the staff join that group.
