The New Orleans Saints defense had a bit of a Kryptonite a season ago. Turnovers were their achilles heel.

It was a bit surprising for a unit that has so much talent. Especially in the secondary, the luck was not on their side at cornerback or safety. Tyrann Mathieu believes that he and the defense will turn that around this season, though.

In a response to a fan on Instagram, the Saints veteran safety said that he will get at least five interceptions this season.

The Saints need that. Forcing turnovers has been key for their defense in recent years before last season, and they have the players to do it.

Expect an uptick in interceptions from Mathieu, Marshon Lattimore, and even Alontae Taylor. All three had impressive plays on the ball during last season but couldn't come up with many turnovers.

Hopefully for New Orleans, that luck will change in 2023.
