The New Orleans Saints have been busy during this offseason. They had a busy NFL Draft, and their moves in free agency made plenty of sense. Tight end Foster Moreau is an intriguing addition to their offense. Juwan Johnson projects to be the starter after a solid 2022 campaign. Moreau provides a more balanced skillset, though.
He already has a relationship with new QB Derek Carr, too. Moreau's contract is set up in a unique way that could pay off big-time for the veteran TE. There are heavy incentives for his pay this season, so his production will motivate his wallet.
Moreau will get a $250K bump in 2024 for doing each of the following in 2023:
- 50 receptions
- 60 receptions
- 65% of snaps + 40 catches
- 75% of snaps + 40 catches
- Pro Bowl
- Possible max: $1.25 millionline
The Saints haven't been afraid to play two tight ends often in the past, so expect plenty of that this year. Moreau will be ready to make a legitimate impact for New Orleans this year and make some extra money in the process.
