The NFL continues to churn along. We now have the Conference Championship matchups set. Meanwhile, a handful of teams continue to seek a new head coach as they watch the playoffs unfold.

The New Orleans Saints are one of those teams, and one candidate has been consistently connected to them since the offseason began for the black and gold.

Detroit Lions defensive coordinator is a potential replacement for Dennis Allen in New Orleans as their next head coach. they may have more competition for him than they expected last week, though.

Glenn is an option for Cowboys

According to Jordan Schultz, Aaron Glenn is a potential candidate for the Dallas Cowboys coaching search. They parted ways with Mike McCarthy last week and have began conducting interviews for his replacement.

Schultz says that Jerry Jones holds Glenn in especially high regard. It sounds like he is certainly on their radar.

For New Orleans, that would be another player for the current Lions coordinator at the table. The New York Jets are also in contention for Glenn and have a strong relationship with him.

With Detroit's Divisional Round defeat, Glenn is available for in-person interviews this week.

Expect the Saints to get involved there in the coming days. We could also see them interview Mike McCarthy and a handful of other potential HC candidates in the coming days.

New Orleans still must fulfill the Rooney Rule, which states that "Clubs must conduct an in-person interview with at least two external diverse — minority and/or female — candidates for any GM or head coaching interview."

We will see if Glenn also gets an in-person interview with the Cowboys. Their interest could shift where he lands in the coming weeks as he looks for an HC job.
