The New Orleans Saints put a massive smile on Dennis Allen's face on Friday night of the 2024 NFL Draft. They drafted one of the most physically gifted cornerbacks in the class in Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama.

A Marshon Lattimore and Kool-Aid McKinstry cornerback duo would be incredibly impressive for the Saints.

That being said, New Orleans could choose to go in another direction. There was tension between Lattimore and the coaching staff last year. The front office has not put a potential trade to rest regarding their star CB.

Could the pick of McKinstry mean that the Saints will trade Lattimore?

It's certainly possible. They now have three cornerbacks that they probably feel comfortable in starting outside of Lattimore.

Paulson Adebo was great last year in Lattimore's absence, and Alontae Taylor is a young player who they believe in. Add in Kool-Aid, and you've got quite the drink in the Saints secondary.

Kool-Aid Mckinstry is a Day 1 ready to play CB for the Saints. When you face him don’t think ish is sweet just because his name is Kool-Aid. He will hit you, strip you and lock you downnnnnn. He wants all the smoke and adds value as a punt returner. NOLA got a REAL ONE. — Robert Griffin III via Twitter (X)

That being said, Adebo is in a contract year, so McKinstry could be insurance there, too. Only time will tell. Regardless, the selection of the former Tide CB does make you think regarding a Lattimore deal.
