The New Orleans Saints are known to be cap space 'wizards,' according to many fans and media members. They always seem to find ways to make space to bring back ro add talent during free agency. This year is no different for New Orleans.
They've added veteran talent at position of need, and they still sit with space to add more if they choose to do so during the next wave of free agency. Right now, OverTheCap lists the Saints with just over $16 million in cap space. That is before the contract for new tight end Forster Moreau hits the books.
Additionally, the draft class must still get signed by the Saints. By the end of that period, the Saints are projected to have $11-$12 million in cap space.
Mickey Loomis and co. will have plenty of room to continue to add some depth. At the top of the list, the Saints need to add more competition at linebacker. The starters are set with Demario Davis and Pete Werner.
Past that, there's a bit of a lack of experience at the position. Also, don't be shocked if they add veterans on the offensive and defensive line to compete for roster spots.
The Saints have some money to play with over the next couple of months.
