In sports, finger-pointing happens a lot when you are losing. For the New Orleans Saints, plenty of fans and media are doing exactly that.

One top Saints player on offense is pointing his finger back at himself and his teammates.

Michael Thomas thinks that the players are to blame for the team's inconsistent start to the season – not their coaching staff.

"We all could get better. … It ain't the coaches. It's the players … It's on us. I don't want to hear nothing about no coach, calling no plays, none of that. Right now we've just got to show how we can win, execute and make those plays."

It's clear that he is frustrated – just like his teammates. they hear the chatter regarding HC Dennis Allen and OC Pete Carmichael Jr.

According to Thomas, they don't believe that all the blame should go on those coaches. Rather, he thinks that the talent on the roster isn't executing enough to win ball games. He's right about that.

One thing is clear. The Saints cannot continue the brand of football that they have played this season.

They are sloppy once again, as one of the highest-penalized teams in football. The defense has shown inconsistencies that fans are not used to in recent seasons. On offense, there is little rhythm and too much miscommunication. Overall, guys are not on the same page.

Thomas and the veterans on the team understand that they must do better on a weekly basis if they want to win the NFC South.
