Sean Payton is the new head coach of the Denver Broncos. After nearly two decades with the New Orleans Saints, he is off to a fresh beginning.

For the Saints, they got solid draft compensation in return for the veteran HC.

That being said, it is clear that Payton had many relationships with folks in New Orleans. He has been in contact with multiple current and former assistants with the Saints organization.

The latest is former co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach Kris Richard.

Richard is a highly-respected, young football mind across the NFL landscape.

His time with the Dallas Cowboys really put him on the map, and his trajectory has been really impressive ever since.

As of now, he doesn't sound like the leading candidate for Denver. That could change, though.

The staff and players really enjoyed having Richard around with the Saints, but they chose to go their separate ways during this off-season.
