The New Orleans Saints are fresh off of a 35-14 win over the Cleveland Browns, improving their record to 4-7. The offense made chunk plays happen, and the defense bent but did not break when it mattered most.
A couple of key pieces to the victory also made history during the win as well for the Saints.
Taysom Hill
Hill had an impact on the win for New Orleans from the offense's first drive. You could tell that they had a clear intention to get him more involved, and that paid off, especially in the second half.
Hill is the 1st player with three rushing touchdowns, fifty receiving yards, and one pass completion in a game since Ed Podolak in 1971 against the Lions, according to ESPN Research.
Darren Rizzi
The new Saints coach put his name next to Sean Payton in franchise history, too. He became just the second Saints HC to win their first two games, alongside Payton.
Rizzi has clearly rallied the troops in black and gold. Both sides of the ball are playing with more grit and determination. At 4-7, the Saints have a massive hill to climb in order to get back into the playoff picture.
That being said, the Atlanta Falcons are trending downwards as the leaders of the NFC South. After losing to the Saints last week, ATL is getting blown out by Sean Payton's Denver Broncos in Week 11.
We will see if the success continues for Rizzi and Taysom, but the coach made it clear that they want to keep him heavily involved in the game plan for the remainder of the season.
