The New Orleans Saints kicked off training camp practices on Wednesday. There will be plenty of takeaways in the coming days, but they got off to an important start today. According John Hendrix, the Saints had 100% attendance from the roster today.

That means that New Orleans is extremely healthy right now. That's a great sign after an injury-plagued year in 2022-2023. Having top-end talent like Erik McCoy, Michael Thomas, and Cesar Ruiz at full strength throughout this season would be massive for the team's goal.

Thomas is in great shape. He looks fluid in practice video, and he has definitely added muscle, too. Hopefully, injuries will stay away from the veteran this year. Thomas, Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed can be an elite WR trio.

Ruiz and Penning are both major pieces on offense as well. Protecting Derek Carr will be important and giving him time to fire the ball down the field will help out the receivers. Penning started to get playing time at the end of the year last season, but he needs to earn a starting role while healthy this season. Ruiz is a cemented starter inside that has shown development over the past two years in New Orleans.

Regardless, having perfect attendance to start camp goes a long way for a team like the Saints.
