When the NFL draft rolls around in less than two weeks, the New Orleans Saints will be looking to add interior and edge defensive talent.

One of the top defensive linemen coming out of the college ranks, Clemson's Bryan Bresee, is being compared to one of the newest members of the Saints.

According to Pro Football Focus, Nathan Shepherd is the ideal player comp for Bresee.

Bresee is a bit more of a project than you'd like at the top of the draft, but he wasn't put in much of a position to succeed in Clemson's scheme. His physical skill set is special.

Bresee registered 51 tackles (15 tackles for loss), nine sacks, a forced fumble, and four pass breakups during his days at Clemson. He also received a plethora of accolades including the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year and first-team All-ACC honors as a freshman in 2020 while also being third and second-team All-ACC honors in his sophomore and junior campaigns.

Bresee saw his overall defense grades go up every year according to PFF (68.2, 69.4, and 73.5). Also, he had a pass-rush grade of at least 81 in two of his three seasons at Clemson with 60 pressures and 39 hurries for his career.

At the NFL Combine, Bresee put together a pretty solid performance. He ran a 4.86 in the 40-yard dash with a 29-inch vertical jump and 22 reps on the bench press at 6'5" and 298 pounds.

Despite some deficiencies, Bresee will likely hear his name called on Day 1 of the draft.
