The New Orleans Saints got a good divisional win in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons.
A loss basically would've ended their season. Now, there is still a tad bit of hope remaining. Losses by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers helped the Saints out today.
The Saints' odds to win the division still don't look too grand. The Bucs are the overwhelming favorites still.
The Saints entered today with a less than 1% chance to make the postseason. Mathematically, that percentage did go up.
2% is quite a slim chance.
That being said, the NFC South is an absolute outlier this year. They don't seem to be following the conventional rules of the NFL. No team deserves to win the division and host a playoff game.
They're all extremely flawed teams, but someone has to come out on top. For the Saints, they really need the Bucs to lose next week while getting another win. That would make the divisional picture much more clear.
Regardless, the Saints must just take care of their own business.
They play a struggling Cleveland Browns offense next week. Deshaun Watson has struggled since his return. Their running game is impressive, though, so the Saints need to keep that in check next week to get a victory. Wins from New Orleans will only put more pressure on the fellow NFC South teams.
The Saints need to continue to apply pressure.
