The New Orleans Saints need a fully healthy Michael Thomas this year. Reports were gleaming concerning his health during this offseason until early this week. Thomas missed practiced with "a bit of a hamstring injury." Head Coach Dennis Allen did not sound like it was serious, but it is something to monitor. Field Yates of ESPN has faith in the Saints' star wide receiver.

Yates addresses thew notion that Thomas could get injured this season once again. He counters it by saying that that could occur for just about any receiver. The risk is always involved.

He says that Thomas is a good value for fantasy football as he is currently getting picked in the eighth round of drafts. Yates believes that the upside is just too great for Thomas in an offense that could be very explosive and productive. The downsides are limited, especially if he stays on the field.

Yates also says that the "slants-only" mantra that some believe about Thomas is just invalid. He thinks that he can be successful in any offense, including the current one for the Saints without Drew Brees or Sean Payton. Yates is correct about that. He believes that Thomas is an "unbelievable player."

Saints fans are certainly ready to see their star WR back on the field and making plays.
