The New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers are doing joint practices to finish this week. They are projected to play on Sunday at 6:05 CT in Los Angeles. That being said, weather could take that off the table. It hasn't been confirmed, but you must imagine that there have been discussions regarding the likelihood, or lack thereof, that the game will be played.
Hurricane Hilary is set to hit California late this weekend, and the teams shouldn't be in that region. Not to mention, fans and everyone else connected to the game should not be around there, either.
The game between the Saints and Chargers is the lone game on Sunday, too. Their other option besides cancelling could be to move it into an earlier time slot. That would help ensure that everything is finished before the storm rolls around.
Many forecasts are predicting that the hurricane will reach Los Angeles veery early Monday morning. We all know how fluid that type of weather and situation is, though. As of Friday, the storm has reached Category 4 status. There's a lot of danger involved.
Regardless, safety has to be at the top of the line of thinking for everyone involved. it's a preseason game, and even if it wasn't, there is no reason to force risk in order to play a football game.
