The New Orleans Saints have a major special teams situation to figure out over the next 24 hours. They have to choose who their starting kicker will be. Wil Lutz is the veteran option that has looked very solid in the preseason. Meanwhile, rookie Blake Grupe has given him all the competition he can handle during this offseason.

Both players deserve a starting job in the NFL, but only one will get it for New Orleans. After the team's preseason finale against the Houston Texans, Lutz was noticeably emotional in his interview. Check out NOFNetwork's video from postgame coverage below.

From Lutz' words and reactions, you could tell that the decision by the team is a major one for him.

He wants to stay with New Orleans, the team he has been with for his entire career. Lutz clearly loves the Saints and would love to stick around. That being said, his emotion can be taken in two different ways.

First, you can believe that he was emotional because the team has let him know that his job is safe. Those tears in his eyes could be joyful ones. On the flip-side, he may just be nervous with the pending choice. Those tears in his eyes could have been ones of anxiety and passion for his career so far with the Saints.

That time could be coming to an end, or he could be a key piece for this season in New Orleans.
