Giants land elite cornerback prospect and a new weapon for Jaxson Dart in latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft
Can the New York Giants find key starters in the 2026 NFL Draft?
It’s almost time to fully turn our focus to the upcoming NFL Draft for the New York Giants. With the Giants projected to pick second overall in the upcoming draft, they hold significant power to shape their future.
The upcoming class lacks blue-chip talent but has quality depth at key positions that the Giants need to address. To help Giants fans get a picture of what they could expect in April, I produced a 2026 NFL Mock Draft with PFF’s Mock Draft simulator.
Giants 2026 NFL Mock Draft results
The first, most important move I made was trading back in the first round. The 2026 NFL Draft does not have many options at quarterback for quarterback-desperate teams. Therefore, it would behoove the Giants to trade back and accumulate future draft capital. They could potentially land a 2027 first-round pick, which would be transformative for the future of the team.
Additionally, trading back in this draft in particular is a necessary strategy. This class lacks elite, no-brainer prospects they can take second overall like Abdul Carter. Moving back would put them in a safer position to take a quality prospect without reaching.
In this mock, I made a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire a future first and their 70th overall pick. Here were my results.
TRADE: The 2026 2nd overall pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for the 2026 6th overall pick, the 2026 70th overall pick, and a 2027 1st round pick
Round 1 Pick 6: Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
Round 2 Pick 34: KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M
Round 3 Pick 70: Zakee Wheatley, S, Penn State
Round 4 Pick 102: Xavier Chaplin, OT, Auburn
Round 5 Picks 141: DJ Campbell, IOL, Texas
Round 6 Pick 180: Kevin Coleman Jr., WR, Missouri
Round 6 Pick 189: Zxavian Harris, DT, Ole Miss
Round 6 Pick 190: TJ Guy, EDGE, Michigan
The first selection at sixth overall for me is a slam dunk. McCoy hasn’t played this year due to recovering from an ACL injury last offseason. His injury timing likely allows him to play right away as a rookie. And for those worried about him not playing this year, his film from 2024 was elite, and he could have been a top 15 pick in the last class. This can solve the Giants’ need for better defensive back play and make up for Deonte Banks’ failure.
With the Day 2 selections, I was able to find a speedster to add to the WR room and impactful coverage skills in the safety room. Tyler Nubin and Jevon Holland haven’t lived up to expectations, and a rangy prospect like Wheatley can at least boost depth. Concepcion is the type of deep threat the Giants need to play off of Malik Nabers ‘ well-roundedness.
The Day 3 picks were the perfect opportunity to supply depth for the thinnest positions on the roster. Chaplin was highly regarded by the NFL in the preseason and could eventually become a starter for the Giants. Campbell accomplishes adding competition at guard. Coleman Jr. likely doesn’t become a highly impactful receiver, but the Giants need more youth. And lastly, Harris and Guy are solid bodies to add to the defensive line depth.
Ultimately, in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Giants need to focus on adding quality depth, as so many position groups are becoming liabilities. Hopefully, they can accomplish that in April.
