Pat Shurmur's time as New York Giants head coach didn't pan out anywhere close to what people expected, but fortunately for him, he landed on his feet with the Denver Broncos shortly after his time in the Big Apple.

That didn't go very well, either, unfortunately. Shurmur manned the Broncos offense before the franchise fired him after the 2021 season and he subsequently spent the following 2022 season out of coaching.

Well, after taking a year off, Shurmur is expected to join Deion Sanders' Colorado staff as an offensive analyst, per CBS Sports' Carl Reed Jr.:

Shurmur compiled a 9-23 record as head coach of the Giants from 2018-2019 after winning the AP Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2017 as offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings. Both campaigns were abject failures, as Shurmur's squads never got past the five-win mark in a single season.

It'll be interesting to see how everything shakes out. Shurmur is a very good offensive mind, he's just never been able to put it all together as a head coach. This kind of role could suit him well and get him back in the groove and back to bigger and better things.
