Few players, if any at all, are surrounded by as sky-high expectations as Georgia quarterback Carson Beck entering the 2024 season.

Beck has largely been projected to land with the top 10 picks of the 2025 NFL Draft, with some mocking him to the very top spot. That was the case once more when Matt Miller of ESPN released his latest mock.

Miller sent Beck to the New York Giants with the No. 1 overall pick.

"The Giants threw 15 touchdown passes last season (fifth fewest in the league) and Daniel Jones is coming off a season-ending ACL injury, but the team is running it back this year," Miller wrote.

"Veteran Drew Lock was added as a backup, but there still isn't a long-term answer under center on this roster. So the front office might get aggressive in finding one. Beck — my QB1 in the class at the moment — is a steady pocket passer with a big arm and great processing speed. And he is primed for a breakout season after throwing 24 touchdown passes and completing 72.4% of his throws in his first season as a starter in 2023."

New York will return veteran quarterback Daniel Jones as he looks to bounce back from an ACL injury, with Drew Lock in the fold as his backup. But it's easy to get the sense that the Giants will be looking to move on sooner rather than later, and that with what Beck brings to the table both as a pure passer and a capable runner and improviser when the situation calls for it, he could be worth trading up to the top spot for.

Beck demanded attention in 2023, which was his first season as the UGA starting quarterback. He finished it out with over a 72% completion rate, passing for 3,941 yards with a 24-to-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He also rushed for for 116 yards and 4 touchdowns.

How he maintains and builds upon that in 2024 could make him a highly sought-after prospect in 2025 for the NFL world in a big way. He and the Bulldogs will face their first test on the season in the opener against the Clemson Tigers of Aug. 31.
