Recent NFL news could help out the Giants in a big way next season
The Giants need to take advantage of the latest news.
The NFL off-season truly never slows down. Even over a month until the NFL Draft, plenty of moves are being made.
Free agency opens early next week, so cuts are being made to create space for newcomers on rosters.
One of the biggest moves on offense so far this off-season was the Tennessee Titans cutting their starting center, Ben Jones. He is a free agent that can agree to a deal before free agency opens next week.
The New York Giants make a ton of sense for the veteran offensive lineman.
He has been extremely consistent for the Titans over the years. Jones has been a building block for the offense that has helped churn out unbelievable seasons from star running back Derrick Henry.
The Giants have a star RB of their own in Saquon Barkley.
Jones was known for his effort and stability for Tennessee. He rarely missed time due to injury, and he was a fierce competitor on their OL.
It's clear that he was a leader for the team, but cap space ordeals and age made the Titans choose to move on from Jones. Their roster is going through quite the remodeling and youth movement on offense.
For New York, picking up Jones on a one or two-year deal would be ideal. They can afford it, and he would fill a major need on their offense.
Center has been an instability on the Giants offense for multiple seasons now.
Adding one of the most consistent interior players in the NFL over the last half decade would be a massive move. Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, and others would be thankful for his addition.
Not to mention, the Giants don't have a center under contract for next season as of right now.
They'll need a solid starter plus some at the position. Jones fits that bill.
The Giants should take advantage as soon as possible.
