The New York Giants have had a whirlwind offseason, as Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen make decisions that could decide their future in The Big Apple. They had a productive 2025 NFL Draft, adding an elite prospect in pass rusher Abdul Carter, a new quarterback in Jaxson Dart, among other selections.
New York has made another strong decision with a veteran player that helped them finish a task that they desperately needed to check off their list for the offseason.
Giants restructure Brian Burns' contract
In order to get far enough under the cap to complete the signing of Abdul Carter, the Giants restructured the contract of Brian Burns by converting $10M+ of his base salary into a signing bonus.
Burns and Carter will soon tag team to make life difficult on opposing QBs.

With the restructure, the Giants created plenty of space to ink Carter to his rookie deal. They've been busy signing their rookie class, and Carter was a prized piece of it.
Abdul Carter's deal gets done for New York
According to Adam Schefter, Carter has signed his four-year deal after being the third overall selection in this year's draft.
Carter projects to be a key part of one of the best position groups in the entire NFL in 2025.
The Giants defensive line is immensely talented, and the depth is proven as well. Former first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux may not even be a starting option to begin the season. A mixture of Carter, Thibodeaux, Burns, and Chauncey Gholston headline the edge group.
Meanwhile inside, they have arguably the best interior DL in the league in Dexter Lawrence, accompanied by Roy Robertson-Harris and rookie Darius Alexander.
Throughout the front seven, the depth and upside is really exciting for New York. Now, their youngest pass rusher is officially signed and ready to make an instant impact for the G-Men.
