The New York Giants moved on from last season a long time ago, with coach Daboll's recent comments at the league owner's meetings proving as such.

As it turns out, Vegas and the oddsmakers are also on to 2023, releasing the first set of expected win totals for all 32 NFL franchises.

The Giants likely needed little to no added motivation. Led by a hungry coach and GM who have created a blossoming core, this win total is sure to rile up players and fans alike.

Per DraftKings Sportsbook, we have an early look at official win totals for the Giants and the rest of the league:

Sitting at an expected win total of just 8.5 wins, Vegas currently views the Giants as a losing team in 2023, something no one wants to experience in New York.

A step back or stagnant 2023 season would cease all momentum the Giants are building right now, fresh off an overachieving season, and a significant free-agent period.

Analyzing the actual number, it's obvious that the state of the roster is creating hesitancy amongst the oddsmakers, and for good reason.

There are still huge questions in the secondary and on the interior of the offensive line, with some patchwork being done in the receiving corps.

Here's the thing though, New York went to, and won a playoff game with the aforementioned units being in even worse shape, not to mention a group of linebackers that were signed off of practice squads just weeks before.

Upgrading not only the personnel, how about Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll?

The reigning coach of the year, Daboll is only going to become better in year two. With his first full offseason underway and the confidence in himself and key offensive pieces, the team should, and in my opinion, will be better.

Then you have to consider Joe Schoen. Early returns on the 2022 draft class were positive, with Evan Neal, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Kayvon Thibodeaux all having bright moments in their rookie campaign.

So am I supposed to think he's going to flunk this upcoming draft and approach the season as the roster currently sits?

Sorry, but I expect Schoen and Co. to knock April out of the park.

A young team with a motivated head coach, Vegas may have just stirred the wrong pot.
