The New York Football Giants beat the Washington Commanders in Week 7 of the 2023 NFL Football season. Astonishing, breathtaking, unusual, and happy are the feelings for the Giants fanbase as they can finally celebrate their second Victory Monday of the season. The Giants are 6-1-1 against the Commanders since drafting Daniel Jones – and he didn't even play on Sunday.

Too many fabulous things happened for the Giants on Sunday, it seemed as if everything was finally falling into place. Darren Waller scored the first touchdown, which means they were first on the scoreboard. What made it even better was the fact it was an offensive touchdown that came in the first half.

And, it was the Giants' first touchdown since the third quarter of their Week 3 matchup against the 49ers.

Let's look at what the Giants did right and see if they can continue this success to not an awful season.

The Giants threw the ball. Even more than that, they took shots down the field including Jalin Hyatt accounting for 2 receptions and 75 yards. Even more than Hyatt, the Giants showed prime Waller in Metlife Stadium. Waller had 7 receptions for 98 yards, and his first New York touchdown. The offense was off to a hot start but slowed down in the second half due to a few turnovers.

But, it is okay to commit turnovers when your defense is playing like the '85 Bears. The Giant's defense showed up, not that they haven't before, but they took over this game. First-round pick rookie Deontae Banks achieved his first career interception, and Leonard Williams blocked a field-goal attempt for the first time in six seasons.

Oh, and the Giants had six sacks in this game. They have had five sacks all season before this. With six sacks, four tackles for loss, a blocked field goal, and an interception, in one game, the Giants have some momentum on their side.

This game was monumental for this horrendous season, let's see if Brian Daboll can take this momentum and use it against the Jets in Metlife Stadium for Week 8.
