The New York Giants will seemingly be in the market for a new defensive coordinator during this offseason. Don 'Wink' Martindale is on his way out, and they must find his replacement.

There's one notable candidate that should be obvious: Antonio Pierce.

Pierce was the interim head coach for the bulk of the Las Vegas Raiders' season. He grabbed that role once Josh McDaniels was fired. Pierce was Las Vegas' linebackers coach from 2022-2023. If the Raiders choose a different option for their head coach, Pierce should be a hot commodity on the defensive coordinator market.

Carpernter's report above is a great sign for New York. Pierce would be a great addition to their staff and would inject a youthful, exciting sense into their defense.

Pierce, 45 years old, played for the Giants from 2005-2009. He won a Super Bowl with New York in 2007.

During his Giants career, Pierce totaled 491 tackles, 7 sacks, and forced 10 turnovers. He was a key cog to their defense and an emotional leader in the locker room.

If Pierce doesn't get the Raiders HC gig, the Giants need to make a reunion happen.
