Giants dodge a bullet after QB Jaxson Dart takes a scary hit against Eagles
That was scary.
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart remained down on the ground and was being tended to by trainers after taking a hard hit in the team’s “Thursday Night Football” game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dart was taken off the field and went straight into the blue medical tent, with Russell Wilson taking over at quarterback.
New York head coach Brian Daboll was even seen going into the blue medical tent, clearly worried about his quarterback.
However, shortly after, the Giants announced that Dart was evaluated for a concussion but has been cleared.
Jaxson Dart’s stats before the injury
16-for-22
187 passing yards
1 passing touchdown
7 carries
51 rushing yards
1 rushing touchdown
It was 2nd & 11 when Wilson took over. His first play was a handoff to Tyrone Tracy Jr. for two yards, followed by an incomplete pass to Jalin Hyatt. New York was then forced to punt. However, the defense held up strong, forcing Philadelphia to punt, and when they got the ball back, it was Dart who ran out with the offense.
Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo are proving to be quite the duo
In a divisional game agains the reigning Super Bowl champions, getting a primetime win was going to be no easy feat for the Giants. And they knew it was going to take a heck of a performance to pull it off.
Rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo were ready for the challenge and excelled. By the fourth quarter, Dart had a passing and a rushing touchdown, while Skattebo added two rushing touchdowns as well.
These two are going to be fun to watch as they continue to grow in the NFL.
