The New York Giants have put the 2023 NFL Draft to bed and can now embark on the upcoming season with an idea of exactly what they will be working with for the 2023 season.
And while they largely nailed the class, there were some picks that were better or worse than others. So in today's piece, we're going to analyze who was the best overall and worst overall selection in the 2023 class.
Let's jump in.
Best Pick: Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee, Pick 73. Overall

Hyatt was gaining some steam as a potential round-one prospect, thanks to his gaudy stats and impressive tape. The 2022 All-American fell due to size concerns as he is under 180 pounds, but his elite takeoff and ability to win down the field make him a tremendous steal at 73rd overall in my opinion.
New York has now rounded out their receiver room and has a true vertical threat that can take the top of the defense. As someone who had Hyatt within the top five of his receiver rankings, getting him this late will prove to be a steal.
Worst Overall Pick: Tre Hawkins, CB, Ole Dominion, Pick 209. Overall

I understand that Hawkins was a sixth-round pick, but there were certainly other options on the table at the corner, including Cory Trice Jr. from Purdue who was expected to go early on day three at the latest.
Hawkins will likely be a special team contributor and it's saying something if you have to wait until the sixth round to make a questionable decision, but it's notable nonetheless.
Overall, Giants fans should be happy with the class and the players selected. 2023 will be a telling year for everyone involved with the Giants, as they now will be aiming to return to the playoffs. If this year's class produces the way it should though, that will be no problem.
