The New York Giants are just four weeks away from night one of the NFL Draft, with a chance to upgrade a variety of positions and change the trajectory of the team.

That all starts with pick 25 of the first round, a selection that could have lasting impacts on the future of Giants football.

Well if the pre-draft process has shown anything thus far, the impact of this potential Giant will be felt far and wide.

Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College

Flowers is probably the best pure receiver in this class. His mixture of quickness, long speed, and suddenness allocates separation at all three levels of the field.

Because he is a true vertical threat with confirmed 4.42 speed, corners have to play with a cushion. Flowers can easily expose that with his footwork and slicing route technique.

Now, the reason Flowers is being mocked at 25 by Jordan Reid of ESPN, and not earlier is for one main reason:

Size.

Flowers showed up at the NFL Combine at 5'9, and 182 pounds. But Flowers proved capable of adding what we call "good weight" in his pre-draft preparations.

In terms of both draft need and scheme fit, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better arrangement than Flowers and the Giants.

New York clearly has a type when it comes to the players they prefer at wide receiver.

Outside of Darius Slayton, the group includes Wan'Dale Robinson, Jamison Crowder, and Parris Campbell amongst other shifty, smaller pass catchers.

But Flowers is more explosive than all of them and could prove to be a catalyst for an offense receiving an upgrade in big-play ability.

When discussing why Flowers would be a good fit for New York, Reid said the following:

"The Giants have committed this offseason to adding pass-catchers around quarterback Daniel Jones, who got a four-year extension in early March, said Reid. Tight end Darren Waller was a high-profile trade target, but Flowers would be an explosive addition as well. Although he's not very big — 5-9, 182 pounds — he's capable of making plays from the slot and on the outside. He has the strength profile, run-after-reception ability and catch radius to be a creative player in coach Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka's offense. Flowers not only has alignment versatility but also is a sudden-change player who can completely alter the outlook of games in one play. New York lacked those types of players on the outside a season ago."

I know New Yorkers aren't fond of Boston, but they'll be thanking the college (Flowers attended Boston College) for producing a potential perennial Pro Bowler.
