The New York Giants need to bolster their pass rush during the 2023 off-season.

The good news is they will soon have a shot at signing Pro Bowl pass rusher Frank Clark away from the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, per ESPN'S Adam Schefter.

Clark has been a staple on the Kansas City defensive line, helping guide the defense to two Super Bowl wins during his tenure with the Chiefs.

Often seen showing up when it mattered most, Clark is third all-time in postseason sacks with 13.5.

When describing edge rushers, you hear adjectives like "bendy", loose, or explosive. But one phrase that isn't brought up nearly enough is clutch.

When you're in the playoffs and the offense is behind the sticks on third down, with the whole country knowing a pass is coming, can you get home and sack the quarterback?

Time and time again, Clark proved capable.

Unfortunately, professional football is a business at the end of the day, and sometimes that means even the best of relationships end in divorce.

After restructuring his contract in 2022, it appears that the two sides couldn't come to terms despite a positive relationship between Clark's agent and the Chiefs.

Kansas City will save $21 million in cap space by releasing Clark, (per over the cap) making the decision tough emotionally, but seamless financially.

Still on the right side of 30 (29 years old), Clark can add to a team that needs depth and designated pass rushing.

With two young edge defenders in Azeez Ojulari and Kayvon Thibodeaux, New York should have confidence in the future of their pass rush plan.

But one thing you can never have too much of in the NFL:

Sack artists.

Take the reigning NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles for instance.

Philadelphia set records in their sack totals, seeing four different players record double-digit sacks in 2022.

With a dominant interior presence like Dexter Lawrence, two green but talented edge players, and a crafty veteran in Clark behind them, the Giants suddenly could be mimicking the success of their divisional foe.

And for all Giants fans, a season that ends in a Super Bowl appearance would earn a welcomed reception.
